Dr. Robinson, born in Joplin, Missouri, graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1924 and earned his doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania in 1927. His medical career spanned 43 years, beginning in 1927 when he returned to Kansas City to join his father, the late Dr. G. Wilse Robinson, Sr., in practice. Together, they established the Robinson Sanitarium, later renamed Robinson Memorial Hospital.
In 1945, Dr. Robinson became the medical director of the Neurological Hospital, succeeding his father, who passed away in 1958. In 1960, the hospital was renamed Robinson Memorial Hospital in his father’s honor. Dr. Robinson held leadership roles in several professional organizations, serving as president of the Southern Psychiatric Association, the Central Neuropsychiatric Association, and the Mid-Continent Psychiatric Association. Additionally, he served as Speaker of the Assembly from 1962 to 1963.
