Dr. Bridburg earned his medical degree from Dublin University Medical School in 1961, followed by internships at Royal City of Dublin Hospital and Mercy Hospital. He completed his psychiatry residency at the Institute of Living in Hartford in 1966 and served as a U.S. Navy psychiatrist from 1966 to 1968.
Dr. Bridburg went on to become clinical director at the Institute of Living, president of the Connecticut Psychiatric Society, and Medical Director of Community Health Resources (CHR). A Distinguished Life Fellow of the APA, he also served on the APA Board of Trustees and was Speaker of the Assembly from 1993 to 1994.
