Lecture: Evidence-based Psychosocial Treatments for Persons with Schizophrenia (presented at IPS)
Dr. Lehman is a professor and chair of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Much of his research has examined outcomes of persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses, and in particular, assessing quality of life. He has also studied the impacts of substance use disorders among persons with mental illnesses on diagnosis and outcomes, the effectiveness of PACT programs for homeless persons with severe mental disorders, and the effectiveness of interventions for families. In his current work, Dr. Lehman continues to study the quality of care for persons with schizophrenia. In addition to numerous scientific articles, he is a co-author of two books, Working with Families of the Mentally Ill and Double Jeopardy: Chronic Mental Illness and Substance Use Disorders.
