Dr. Hogarty is the recipient of the 2006 Alexander Gralnick, M.D., Award for Research in Schizophrenia. Hogarty is a professor emeritus of psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic. For nearly four decades, his research has centered on the design and study of disorder-relevant, individual psychosocial treatments for schizophrenia, including family psychoeducation, personal therapy and cognitive enhancement therapy.
