2025 Alexander Gralnick Award Recipient
Lecture: Building a Learning Health System for First-Episode Psychosis: The STEP Program
Dr. Srihari received his medical degree from the University of Rochester and completed his psychiatry residency and fellowship at Yale School of Medicine. He focuses on improving outcomes for individuals with early-stage schizophrenia spectrum disorders, using a combination of medication management and psychosocial interventions to promote stabilization and long-term recovery.
As director of the Specialized Treatment Early in Psychosis (STEP) program at Yale, Dr. Srihari leads efforts to enhance early intervention and statewide access to care for recent-onset psychosis. A professor and researcher at Yale, his work explores the causes and mechanisms of schizophrenia, the development of predictive tools, and strategies to prevent decline and improve recovery. He also advances evidence-based medicine in psychiatric training, helping future psychiatrists integrate scientific evidence into clinical practice to improve patient and population outcomes.
