Dr. Herzog earned his medical degree from University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine (1967) and competed his residency at Yale-New Haven Medical Center Program (1971-1974). He served in the US Navy (Medical Corps), LCDR, Department of Internal Medicine, Quantico Naval Hospital, 1969-1971.
Currently, Dr. Herzog is Medical Director Emeritus, Professional Programs at the Institute of Living/Hartford Hospital, Hartford, CT, Professor/ Clinical Psychiatry at the University of Connecticut, School of Medicine, Farmington, CT. A Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, Dr. Herzog served a Speaker of the Assembly from 1999-2000.
