Dr. Burd earned his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine in 1982 and completed his psychiatry residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester in 1986. He is a board-certified psychiatrist with expertise in diagnosing and treating mental and emotional disorders.
Dr. Burd currently serves as the psychiatric service line chair and inpatient Medical Director, and is part of the clinical faculty at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. He is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the APA and served as Speaker of the Assembly from 2008 to 2009.
