2026 Simon Bolivar Award Recipient
Lecture Title: Reimagining Academic Medicine to Ensure that All Faculty Thrive: A Focus on Policies to Support Caregivers
Christina Mangurian, M.D., MAS is Vice Dean for Faculty & Academic Affairs at the UCSF School of Medicine and the Lynne & Marc Benioff Endowed Chair of Psychiatry. She actively works to create an environment where all faculty can thrive in medicine, and has conducted many studies related to caregiving, well-being, and workforce policies. Her work has been published widely, including in the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, and Nature. In addition to numerous mentoring awards, she received the 2026 AMWA Award for Advocacy in Advancing Women Physicians & Health of Women and the 2017 UCSF Chancellor’s Award for the Advancement of Women.
