Lecture Title: Behind the White Coat: Addressing Physician Mental Health and Workforce Resilience
Balkozar Adam, M.D. is a renowned child and adolescent psychiatrist, researcher, educator, mentor, advocate and professor emeritus of psychiatry at the University of Missouri. She is a distinguished life fellow of both the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She has presented nationally and internationally on everything from providing culturally informed care to hiring international medical graduates to preventing mental illness. Her awards include the Agnes Purcell McGavin Award for Distinguished Career Achievement in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Jeanne Spurlock, MD Award on Diversity and Culture and AACAP Assembly Catchers in the Rye award.
