Lecture Title: The Mosaic of International Medical Graduates: Journeys from Dreams to Success
Iqbal "Ike" Ahmed, M.D., FRCPsych is Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Geriatric Medicine, University of Hawaii, Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, Uniformed Services University. He is the recipient of the APA Distinguished Service Award, the Weinberg Award for contributions to Geriatric Psychiatry, and the APA Assembly Ronald Shellow Award. He has published in the areas of psychiatric education and geriatric psychiatry, with a particular focus on cultural and IMG workforce issues. He has been active in mentoring and advocating for IMGs. He has earned national recognition for advancing DEI in psychiatry. He is a graduate of St. John’s Medical College, India.
