Irving Bieber, M.D., was an American psychoanalyst who graduated from New York University Medical School and completed a two-year internship at Lincoln Hospital. Interested in human development and sexuality, he became widely known for his book Homosexuality: A Psychoanalytic Study of Male Homosexuals (1962), in which he argued that homosexuality was an acquired condition shaped by childhood experiences and family relationships.
