Lecture Title: John Fryer: Pioneering Civil Rights Activist
Malcolm Lazin, J.D., is the founder and executive director of Equality Forum, a national LGBT civil rights organization. He is the executive producer of three award-winning documentaries and an Off-Broadway play. A former prosecutor, Lazin served as chair of the Pennsylvania Crime Commission. He has received numerous public service awards, including the U.S. Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award and the National Education Association’s Creative Leadership in Human Rights Award. His stewardship led to the inclusion of Washington Square, the largest Revolutionary War burial site, into Independence National Historical Park. He is the first non-physician to receive the APA’s Special Presidential Commendation.
